Australian National University

ANU is Australia’s national university was established to give Australia world-class capacity research in subject areas important for the nation’s future. As the national university ANU has a special relationship with government providing scholarship and public policy expertise that contributes to advancing the Australian nation.

ANU and Fulbright

ANU has a longstanding partnership and rich history with the Fulbright Commission, with three sponsored Scholarships in recent history including the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Political Science from 2006-2010, the Fulbright ANU College of Business & Economics Postgraduate Scholarship (2009), and the newest collaboration for 2016; the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Besides the collaborative scholarships, ANU co-sponsored the 2013 Fulbright Presentation Dinner in Canberra and also welcomed recent Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board Chairman, Mr Tom Healy to the ANU faculty.

The Fulbright Commission has awarded over 160 Scholarships to ANU students and faculty, dating back to 1951 when former CEO of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the late Mr Roy Cameron, an ANU lecturer, received Fulbright sponsorship to study economics at Harvard University.
