Commencing in 2024, the Fulbright Scholar Awards (funded by the University of Wollongong) will enable outstanding academics from the United States to undertake research with University of Wollongong academic teams on areas of mutual benefit to Australia and the United States. The award recipients will spend up to four months working in Wollongong, one of Australia's most picturesque university locations, conveniently located 60 minutes from Sydney. There are two positions available annually.

Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Applied Public Policy (Democratic Resilience) (funded by Flinders University and Carnegie Mellon University Australia)
The Distinguished Chair is to conduct collaborative research at both Flinders University and Carnegie Mellon University Australia, and engage in guest lectures or seminars at the advanced undergraduate and postgraduate levels as needed.
Fulbright Future Scholarships are open to postgraduate students, PhD researchers, academics and professionals. Awardees will receive funding for full tuition/visiting researcher expenses at an Australian institution of their choice, as well as travel and living costs.
Fulbright Anne Wexler Scholarship in Public Policy (funded by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment)
This scholarship enables a U.S. postgraduate student with strong academic credentials and leadership potential to undertake a two-year Master’s degree in Australia in an area that supports Wexler’s bi-national interests in the field of public policy. These may include key areas such as health, sustainability, energy, climate change, regional security, education, political science, history or governmental relations.
This scholarship will enable exceptional U.S. postgraduate students in the fields of environment, public health, social justice or creative and performance arts, to undertake 8 – 10 months research/ study at Western Sydney University.

The Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship (Sponsored by the University of Newcastle) will enable an exceptional U.S. scholar to undertake postdoctoral research at the University of Newcastle in a priority area of research. This award supports a 3 – 10 month position.
