Fulbright Tasmania Scholarship
About the Award
The Fulbright Tasmanian Scholarship (funded by the Tasmanian Government and the University of Tasmania) supports research relevant to Tasmania while building research links between Tasmania and the United States. This award offers outstanding researchers the opportunity to broaden their professional, educational, and cultural horizons, and to then return and share the experience with their local community. This award is open to postgraduate visiting student researcher, postdoctoral, and scholar applicants.

Applicants must provide an award statement in the application which clearly outlines the benefit of the proposed research program to a topic or issue relevant to Tasmania.
About the Sponsor
Tasmania is located south of mainland Australia, separated by the Bass Strait, with coastlines along the Southern Ocean and the Tasman Sea. Around 40% of Tasmania’s land is protected in national parks and reserves, including large areas of World Heritage wilderness.
University of Tasmania is a public research university founded in 1890, making it one of the oldest universities in Australia, with main campuses in Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie. The university has a strong focus on marine and Antarctic studies, as well as environmental science research.
