About the Award
The Fulbright Sir John Carrick New South Wales Scholarship supports research relevant to New South Wales and assists in building research links between New South Wales and the United States. This award offers outstanding researchers the opportunity to broaden their professional, educational, and cultural horizons, and to then return and share the experience with their local community. This award is open to postgraduate and postdoctoral applicants.

Applicants must provide an award statement in the application which clearly outlines the benefit of the proposed program of research to a topic or issue relevant to New South Wales.
About the Sponsor
New South Wales is located on the east coast of Australia, with a diverse landscape that includes coastal regions, mountain ranges such as the Great Dividing Range, and inland plains. It is Australia’s most populous state and contains the country’s largest city, Sydney.
Sir John Carrick served as a Senator for New South Wales from 1971 to 1987, holding senior ministerial roles, including Minister for Education. He was knighted in 1987 for his his contributions to Australian politics and public life, particularly in the area of education.
