My Fulbright Project entails developing a deep learning algorithm to visually recognize stains and holes in second-hand garments to assist in sorting second-hand garments, thus targeting clothing waste.

Sophia Brady graduated from Boston College in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Politics.

Inspired by sustainability in the fashion industry, Sophia’s Fulbright project will develop a computer vision system to streamline sorting operations at second-hand clothing centres by recognising garment quality. Following this, Sophia plans to pursue a Master’s in Business Analytics to advance sustainability in the fashion sector.
