I’ve been working with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission for nearly ten years to develop Australia’s Design and Distribution Obligations, which require financial firms to design and distribute financial products that meet their customers’ objectives, financial situation, and needs. My Fulbright research evaluates the implementation of this new regulatory paradigm.
Professor Lauren Willis is the Centennial Chair in Consumer Law at Loyola Marymount University. Known for her critiques of financial education and regulatory nudges, she developed a performance-based approach to consumer law that aligns firm and consumer interests.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Lauren will expand her research on consumer law innovations and their potential applications in Australia’s regulatory systems.
