My Fulbright Distinguished Chair position at Kansas State University aims to share research approaches to improve wheat production in the face of environmental change in diverse wheat farming systems, build capacity and ongoing partnerships to propel the careers of the next generation of agronomists in Australia, the USA and beyond.

Dr. John Kirkegaard is a Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO in Canberra, leading teams developing innovative agronomic approaches to enhance water efficiency in farming. Recognised with the Eureka Prize for sustainable agriculture in 2014, he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2016.

As the Fulbright Distinguished Chair at Kansas State University, John will share research strategies to improve wheat production, a vital crop for global food security and rural prosperity.
