My Fulbright research provides comparisons between Australian and U.S. approaches to energy transition – allowing each to learn from the other’s best practices and biggest challenges, especially in the most impacted communities. I also hope to increase collaboration opportunities between the two countries in transition-related research, policy, and the arts.
Dr. Jeffrey Jacquet is an Associate Professor of Rural Sociology at Ohio State University, focusing on the socioeconomic impacts of energy development.
As a Fulbright Scholar at Curtin University, he will examine the effects of energy transitions on communities in Australia, comparing these findings with those from the United States. His work contributes to understanding how energy policy shapes rural and urban livelihoods during the shift away from fossil fuels.
