My Fulbright research will trial a novel molecular imaging technique for the detection of thrombus within the heart and vasculature, with an aim to improve the diagnosis, prognostication and management of cardiovascular diseases.
Jamie is an Advanced Trainee in Nuclear Medicine at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Western Australia and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Western Australia.
Jamie has a passion for research in molecular imaging of cardiovascular diseases and will be travelling to Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School to investigate a new molecular imaging technique for the non-invasive detection of thrombus, the most common cause of heart attacks and strokes. He aims to develop improved techniques for diagnosing and prognosticating cardiovascular diseases, to help reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease in Australia.
