My Fulbright research project will analyse the Australian response to the 2019/2020 ‘Black Summer’ fires as a case study for how to develop well-supported transdisciplinary and collaborative emergency biodiversity support teams capable of being deployed to protect, extract, and triage wildlife during fires in the U.S. and other countries.
Dr. Jacey Cerda is a clinical veterinarian, attorney, and postdoctoral researcher at Colorado State University. Her interdisciplinary expertise informs her work on protecting biodiversity and ecosystems during disasters.
As a Fulbright Scholar at Federation University’s Future Regions Research Centre, Jacey will develop frameworks and training programs to enhance disaster preparedness and response for wildlife and ecosystems.
