Already there is practically no domain of working life untouched by automation, both in Australia and the US. My Fulbright scholarship at USC will enable a better understanding of the ongoing role of the human in automated systems, as the foundation for a just and sustainable transition to the future of work.
Dr. Chris O’Neill is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation, researching the role of automation in workplaces and society. His work focuses on how workers adapt to and overcome errors in automated technologies, demonstrating the enduring relevance of human expertise.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Chris will collaborate with experts at the University of Southern California to investigate how error management in automated systems can enhance technologically advanced workplaces.
