My Fulbright Scholar research seeks to reconceptualise Australia’s response to the harm caused by human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, through a re-examination of the concept of harm, framed against our obligations under the Palermo Protocol.

Dr Brianna Chesser is an Associate Professor in Criminology and Justice, a Criminal Lawyer and a Clinical Forensic Psychologist with extensive experience working to support and recognise the legal rights of marginalised members of our community. As a Fulbright Scholar at Northeastern University in Boston, Dr. Chesser will collaborate with survivors of sexual exploitation and policy makers to better recognise the harms caused by human trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.
