My Fulbright research focuses on understanding how environmental changes impact the energy needs and resilience of Murray cod, an iconic Australian freshwater fish. By uncovering these bioenergetic responses, I aim to inform conservation strategies that support sustainable management of this culturally and ecologically important species.
Dr. Lucas Griffin is an Assistant Professor of Marine Biology at the University of South Florida, specialising in the bioenergetics of aquatic animals and their adaptation to environmental changes.
Lucas’ Fulbright project, in collaboration with Deakin University and the Victorian Fisheries Authority, will investigate how environmental changes impact the Murray cod, a culturally and ecologically significant freshwater fish endemic to Australia.
