My Fulbright research uses radio, optical, and high-energy data from some of the world’s largest telescopes to search for counterparts to fast astrophysical transients, such as the mysterious fast radio bursts, to uncover their nature and help shed light on the physics behind the most energetic events in the Universe.
Alex Rosenthal is a University of Virginia alumna with a Bachelor of Science in Astrophysics with Highest Distinction.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Alex is working with Dr. Jeff Cooke at Swinburne University of Technology to search for multiwavelength counterparts of Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs). Her research will provide insights into the origins of these energetic cosmic phenomena. After completing her Fulbright, Alex plans to pursue a PhD in Astrophysics at Cornell University.
