Entitlements

Scholarship entitlements vary per award. Please see individual scholarships for entitlement details. Awards generally include:

  • A living allowance
  • Funding for international flights to/from Australia
  • Health coverage under Medicare
  • Health and Accident Insurance (ASPE) to maximum of US$100,000 (Scholar only)
  • Access to Fulbright Alumni in the U.S and Australia for social and professional networking
  • Support through the Fulbright Commission to assist with administration, visas and general enquiries.

The Fulbright Future Scholarships (funded by The Kinghorn Foundation) are for U.S. postdoctoral students or academics seeking 4–10 month collaborative research projects in Australia. Applicants must propose study/research programs that have the potential for tangible impact on the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of Australians and Americans.

The Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship (funded by Deakin University) will enable an exceptional U.S. scholar to undertake postdoctoral research at Deakin University in a priority area of research. This award supports a 4–10 month position.

Funded by the University of Newcastle
The Fulbright Postdoctoral Scholarship (funded by the University of Newcastle) will enable an exceptional U.S. scholar to undertake postdoctoral research at the University of Newcastle in a priority area of research. This award supports a 4–10 month position and two awards are available each year.
